Recombinant Human Interferon-gamma


Description

Interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) is a multifunctional cytokine which is secreted primarily by activated NK cells and T cells. IFN-γ exerts a wide range of immunoregulatory activities and is considered to be the prototype proinflammatory cytokine. Originally characterized based on anti-viral activities, IFN-γ also exerts anti-proliferative, immunoregulatory, and proinflammatory activities. IFN-γ can upregulate MHC class I and II antigen expression by antigen-presenting cells.

Biological Activity

Fully biologically active. The specific activity determined by an anti-viral assay is no less than 2.0 x 10^7 IU/mg.

White lyophilized powder.

Formulation

Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered concentrated (1mg/ml) solution in PBS, pH 7.4.

Endotoxin

< 1EU/μg of rhIFN-γ as determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

Reconstitute in sterile distilled water containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.

Storage

Store at -20°C after receiving. Upon reconstitution, store at 2-8°C for up to one week. For maximal stability, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/ thaw cycles.
