Background:
The cell-surface Fas antigen is a 48 kDa
transmembrane protein that can mediate
apoptosis/programmed cell death and belongs
to the nerve growth factor (NGF)/tumor necrosis
factor (TNF) receptor superfamily. The human
Fas antigen is expressed in various human cells,
including activated peripheral T and B
lymphocytes, various lymphoid tumor cell lines,
some leukemic T cells, and some myeloid cells.
It is also differentially expressed on human
thymocytes during thymic maturation.
Specificity:
Reacts with human Fas antigen.
Species Reactivity:
Reacts with human Fas antigen (extracellular
portion). Possible weak binding to Fas from rat
and mouse. Other species not tested.

Immunogen:
Recombinant human Fas
Format:
100 μL of 1 mg/mL (100 μg) monoclonal
antibody in 1X PBS, pH 7.2, with 0.01% sodium
azide. Purified by Protein A chromatography.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term and –20°C for long term.
Aliquot to avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
Applications and Suggested Dilutions:

Western blot: Use at a 1:200 - 1:500 dilution
(2-5 μg/mL).

Immunoprecipitation: Use at 2-5 μg/106 cells.

ELISA: Use at a 1:1,000 dilution.

Does NOT induce apoptosis.
The optimal dilution for a specific application
should be determined by the researcher.
